Ladies Group

Ladies Group meet the last Wednesday of the month (except on outings) in St Michaels & St Johns Parish Hall, Lowergate Clitheroe.  At 7.30pm –  only £2, including light refreshments.   Open to all Ladies – any age and denomination are most welcome.

We have a Tea dance on the third Wednesday of each month (except December when it’s the second Wednesday,  when we have a lovely Christmas buffet) – 2pm to 5pm  with a lovely afternoon tea. Admission is only £4.  For information contact Daphne, 01200 427912.

We hold various functions to raise money for charities. In  2016  we raised funds for  Leukaemia Research (Bloodwise),  The  Alzheimer’s Organisation,  and CAFOD, among others.
We also had functions to raise money for refurbishing ladies’ facilities in our Parish Hall.  We have provided hospitality/catering for special occasions at Mgr Corcoran’s request.

Regular events include:
Treasure Hunt –Usually in August with supper afterwards.. we visited Lancaster Castle with a meal in Morecambe. Always very enjoyable.

December – a visit to York with optional tour of York Minster.

At the Christmas Fayre we provide refreshments, as well as a Tombola stall and Craft stall.

    (An Ecumenical Service for all affected by Cancer.  Professor Ray Donnelly MBE, a retired  surgeon in 1990 founded a cancer charity which became The Roy Castle Lung Cancer foundation. In 1999 he brought together many cancer charities in Merseyside  for a day of prayer  for those affected in anyway by cancer. Entitled “Pause for Hope “ resulting in a annual service in one of Liverpool’s two cathedrals  After attending last year ( a truly rewarding experience ) it was decided to initiate holding a service here in the Ribble Valley for all  who wished to attend ).
