Everyone is invited to the Laudato si’ (Live Simply) meeting in the Old School Rooms on December 8 where there will be an opportunity to discuss and set out plans for social action in our Parish covering the three aspects of our Live Simply Plan which collectively cover the environment, poverty and migration issues.
Please come along and join the discussion with a view to developing a plan which can be presented to the whole Parish. Refreshments available.
Our Laudato Si’ (Live Simply Plan) covers Living Simply and Living in solidarity with the poor as well as living sustainably with creation. Our two main themes – but we are open to others – are:
- Our response to the climate crisis focusing in particular on the grounds behind St Michael and St John’s. We want to explore some of the grounds for allotments to grow food for those in need;
- Support of asylum seekers and refugees in the local community, in particular plans to support a family under the Refugee Sponsorship Programme.
Please come if you can. This meeting isn’t just about the environment, it’s about everything that should concern us as a parish community
