OUR LADY OF THE VALLEY PARISH FORUM – CONSTITUTION
The Forum is the Parish Council of the parish of Our Lady of the Valley comprised of the three communities of St. Mary’s Sabden, St. Hubert’s, Dunsop Bridge and St. Michael & St. John’s, Clitheroe.
It is open to all Parishioners. Parishioners who attend are entitled to both speak and vote on matters.
Its purpose is to promote a greater understanding of individual needs and the needs of the Parish Community.
Its remit embraces the spiritual and social life, liturgical celebrations, finance and buildings.
The forum is chaired by a parishioner elected by the forum to serve for three years. He/she may not serve for two consecutive periods.
The secretary is also elected by the forum to serve for a three year period.
The Forum usually meets six times a year. Any parishioner may request an item to be placed on the agenda. Items must be passed to the secretary at least a week before a meeting.
Groups may offer reports to the forum but should be in writing and capable of being spoken within three minutes.
This constitution to be reviewed every three years.
