Teapots – Sabden

We are in need of tea pots to display beautiful tea cosies being made by Carol Hartley.  If you have an old teapot in your cupboard that you no longer want (preferably a four cup pot) please bring it along to church or leave with Carol or Margaret Parsons.  Spare knitting needles and wool also welcome.

The Big Swim

Helen Addy (nee Mercer) is going to ‘Swim the Channel’ for Rosemere Cancer Foundation in recognition of the excellent care she received during her cancer treatment.  She will swim a mile a day (64 lengths) at Stonyhurst College Pool for 21 days starting June 1st.  Her Just Giving page for sponsorship is www.justgiving.com/Helen-Addy or tele 01200 441015.

Knit’n’Knatterthon

A big thank you to the many people, young and old, from the local Christian communities, who came to the latest Knit and Knatterthon and also to all those who have contributed from home with squares, blankets and baby clothes.  Around 40kg of woollen goods will go to refugees in Turkey at the end of the month.  Square and knitted items can be left by the food bank collection point at the back of church.

KSC – Thank you

The KSC would like to thank parishioners and friends for supporting their events thereby enabling them to donate £423 to Mary’s Meals, and £500 to St Augustines to support twelve 15/16 year old pupils to travel to Lourdes with HCPT.  New members to help in our work would be made very welcome.

CAFOD – Harvest Fast Day

Be sure to get your Harvest Fast Day envelope next weekend.  If you tick the Gift Aid box on the envelope, the Government will add 25% to the value of your donation.  This year, we are supporting Altiplano in Bolivia.  Your gift will help to provide families with training and tools to grow enough food to feed their families.  Your generosity means so much to our brothers and sisters around the world.
